Beautiful Rural Fort Pierce Location
If you are planning a rustic yet elegant celebration on the Treasure Coast, this real wedding inspiration showcases a gorgeous "Coastal Cowgirl" aesthetic at The Barn at Palmetto Flats in Fort Pierce, FL. As a local Fort Pierce wedding photographer, we loved capturing the gorgeous natural light, the expansive indoor reception space, and the scenic outdoor backdrop that makes this property a premier choice for Florida couples.
Aesthetic: Coastal Cowgirl
The bride, Tilli — local entrepreneur and owner of the popular Tilli’s Coffee on South Hutchinson Island—brought her signature coastal flair inland, transforming the rustic charm of the barn into an absolute dream wedding. From the coastal fabrics and textures to classic western chic details, this celebration is the ultimate blueprint for couples looking to blend beach-town style with a rustic Florida barn venue.
Island Coffee to Barn Door Dreams
There is nothing better than swinging into Tilli's teal blue coffee trailer during a coastal adventure. If you are from the Fort Pierce area, you've likely seen her on South Island and if you've ever had the pleasure of being welcomed by Tilli at her cart, then you know she brings so much style and energy to our local community. Obviously, when I found out that she was planning a wedding at The Barn at Palmetto Flats, I knew it would be unforgettable.
By the time Tilli was done adding her personal touch to the venue, the space was completely transformed. My personal favorite touch of hers was the flower selection with the Birds of Paradise and Orchids. The orange and green hues really brought the tropical vibe into the tan and browned leather that comes with the expected ranch theme. The outdoor ceremony faced a wood beam with a white macrame window curtain that created the most stunning backdrop to say "I Do."
How to Style a Coastal Cowgirl Barn Wedding
- The Palette: Blend soft coastal tones with the warm rustic wood tones of a barn. In Tilli's case, she went toward a more tropical vibe with vibrant orange, various hues of green, and sandy beach tones and blended those into the rustic surrounding.
- The Textures: Mix beach-inspired elements like pampas grass and macrame curtain with leather accents, cowboy boots (guess what she was wearing under the dress!) and natural wood.
- Local Touches: Incorporate community favorites - custom coffee bar, signature coastal-infused refreshments, and dial down the appetizers to a create your own trail mix bar! Yeah, she did that!
